For college students, money is typically hard to come by. So, students are offered discounts to a variety of different establishments that partner with universities. Students appreciate these discounts and will take advantage of them if made aware of them. Here are the 13 locations, relating to food and fun activities, in downtown Pittsburgh that offer student discounts to us Point Park Pioneers:


Food


Pizza Fiesta

This pizza shop has been known as a student favorite for quite some time. Specifically, because of their college special – a large cheese pizza, a box of breadsticks and a liter of pop for $13.99.


Mandarin Gourmet

The closest and most affordable Chinese restaurant in the downtown area is Mandarin Gourmet. Which is conveniently located next to the Center of Media Innovation on Wood Street. Students get 10% off with your Point Park ID. 


Wolfie’s Pub

A relatively new restaurant in Market Square, Wolfie’s Pub is a restaurant that features live entertainment throughout the week. They have a partnership with Point Park University that offers a 15% discount. Along with University memorabilia decor and a VIP alumni room.


Gloria Jean’s Coffee

This coffee shop on Smithfield Street offers a 10% discount to help persuade you to purchase their delicious coffee. 


Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream

As a Pittsburgh classic staple, the ice cream at Millie’s gains new fans and customers with each incoming freshman class. Having a variety of ever-changing flavors, such as the vegan dark chocolate ice cream. The 25% off discount for Point Park students makes the best ice cream in the city taste even better.

Carnegie Science Center

The Carnegie Science Center offers student discounts with a valid student ID throughout the year. 


Heinz History Center

With free admission for Pioneer students, get an in-depth history lesson as you explore the five floors of exhibits. With each floor exploring and highlighting the vast history of Pittsburgh culture, food and sports.


Andy Warhol Museum 

As one of the most prolific Pittsburgh Natives in modern pop culture, the Andy Warhol Museum shines a light on his impact on the city of Pittsburgh and the world. Students get free admission to this seven-floor museum to enjoy the different decades of Warhol’s art that created his strong legacy as a leading figure in pop art history. 


Mattress Factory Museum 

Point Park students enjoy the free admission to this widely known interactive museum that has incredible art exhibits on display in the North Shore. 


Theatres in the Cultural District

The theatres in the Cultural District are world-renowned and welcome the most iconic and popular productions in the medium. Students can take advantage of discounted tickets to their favorite shows at any of the theaters.


Stage AE

In the North Shore, Stage AE is one of the most popular concert venues in the Pittsburgh area. Students are able to acquire cheap tickets to a show through the Student Activities, Involvement and Leadership (SAIL) office. 


Pittsburgh Pirates Games at PNC Park

The SAIL office sells discounted Pirate tickets throughout the season. Enjoy your time at the nicest stadium in Major League Baseball with the best view of a city in any stadium, at PNC Park.


Pittsburgh Penguins Games at PPG Place Arena

Along with other students from a variety of Pittsburgh colleges, participate in the ‘RUSH’ for tickets at PPG Paints Arena. Text RUSH to 326223 to receive GNC Student Rush alerts prior to each home game. With each text, it includes a chance to win two free tickets and the link to purchase discounted student tickets.
